Comprehensive

10 Week Class

2.5 hours/week

If you desire an unmedicated birth, are first-time parents or are preparing for a VBAC, this class will prepare you physically, mentally, and emotionally. You will learn how to create a birth plan and an alternate. You will learn what kind of questions to ask a care provider to make sure your values align. We talk about variations of labor, food and fitness and how to take care of your newbie. Dad will become an expert in caring for mama during labor-plus, a TON of relaxation and comfort measures practice. There is a 3-hour online breastfeeding module you can watch at your own pace. We will have local experts visit and talk about their services. This class is packed with information and provides the MOST COMPREHENSIVE practice for birth.

Home&Birth Center

4 Week Class

2.5 hours/week

If you are planning to have your baby at home or at a birth center, this class will give you the nuts and bolts of labor. Learn what happens before, during, and after birth, variations of labor, and birth videos of out-of-hospital births. Comfort measures and relaxation are taught in this class, but you may choose to complement with an additional workshop (see below-20% off if you take this class first). We will have local experts come to visit to talk about their services.

Hospital Birth

6 Week Class

2.5 hours/week

Our hospital class is designed for the couple who is birthing in the hospital and wants more everything. More education. More fun. More relaxation and labor practice. More information on interventions, including medicated and cesarean births. They want to be able to make informed decisions as their birth unfolds. You will create a birth plan and an alternate. We will have local experts come to talk about their services.

One Day Birth Class

7 Hour Class

1 hour lunch

This one-day basic training is designed for the extra busy couple who wants to be prepared for the birth of their little one. Topics covered include: nutrition and exercise to stay healthy and low-risk; what to expect during labor, epidurals and cesarean section; coping techniques and comfort measures; and writing a birth plan. Run time is 7 hours with a 1 hour lunch break. Workbook and lunch voucher included in price.

Workshops

These workshops are hyper-focused on the subject they cover and meant to complement a class from above. They do not replace a full class.

**All workshops include a workbook and a local birth-related resource list.

Comfort Measures:

Amazing coping skills for labor

4 hours/$110

Labor without preparation is twice as laborious.

Why work twice as hard for the same result?

If you want a calm environment for both you and your baby then dive deep into relaxation for labor. Labor pain is unavoidable but CAN be managed using these special techniques designed to focus your mind and increase your threshold. Both participants will practice relaxation, comfort measures, massage, imagery, as well as communication skills for labor. Unique only to this workshop, you will leave with 2 booklets outlining every detail you've learned AND you can bring it to birth so you'll be completely prepared!

It is important to bring whoever will support you to this class. This workshop has no limit to attendance, however, only one pregnant belly per paid participant.

Best time to take this class: The sooner the better!

Participants may take this workshop early, practice at home, and sit in on another workshop closer to their due date for FREE as a refresher closer to B-Day!

Siblings at Birth

90 minutes/$55

In this an in-home, one-on-one, family-style class where your child(ren) will gently be taught what to expect during labor and delivery. We will discuss their special jobs and who their support person will be during labor. They will receive a special booklet that they are encouraged to bring to the birth.

This class is for children 3 and up. Cost is per child.

Best time to take this class: The sooner the better!

The longer they have to get used to the sights and sounds of labor, the better. They will be encouraged to ask any questions after the workshop to help them feel more involved.

Homecoming:

Life with a new recruit

4.5 hours/$140

Babies are so cute, but taking care of them can be a struggle!

This workshop will erase any doubt of your capabilities! It serves as a manual for early parenthood so, you will feel like a couple of confident PROS when it comes to taking care of your baby.

Topics in your take home workbook include breastfeeding (3.5 hour video course online), what to expect from/how to care for a newborn , babywearing, safe sleep, and postpartum care for mom AND dad to help you and you both get off to a great start.

Best time to take this class: 32 weeks pregnant.

You'll have loads of time to practice and ask questions.

Reboot Refresher

4 hours/$130

So, you have had a baby (or maybe 4 already), but you feel like all that info has gone to the birds (mom brain is REAL)! This workshop is for you! It was made for those who have already taken a childbirth class (from anyone-not just me). This class will be tailored to your needs based on your previous experience(s) and your current concerns – of BOTH partners. In the workbook, we’ll cover relaxation, Top 10 Tools for Dads, communication between mom and dad as well as your care provider, labor & pushing positions, comfort measures, adding a new baby to your family, and answer all questions or concerns you might have during this exciting time.

This class is one-on-one and in the comfort of your home.

Best time to take this class: Around 34-36 weeks pregnant.

You can practice positions, techniques and still have lot's of time to ask questions.
